Tools in our setup

Suggested in the setup steps below; not named in the source.

Cost: Godot is free; Meshy and Scenario have free tiers; coding agent from its own plan.

Set it up

  1. One-page game design

Write a one-page design for a small game: core loop in one sentence, controls, win/lose, 3 mechanics max, and a 1-level scope.
  2. Scaffold in Godot

Create a Godot 4 project structure for this game with a main scene, player scene and one level. Use GDScript, keep scripts small and commented, and add input actions in project settings.

  3. Generate assets

Give me Meshy prompts for each 3D asset (style, poly budget, format GLB) and Scenario prompts for each 2D sprite, all in one consistent style.

    Docs: docs.meshy.ai/

  4. Import and wire up

Import the GLB models into the Godot project, set up collisions, and connect them to the player and level scripts.

    Docs: docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/assets_

  5. Playtest loop

Add a debug overlay (FPS, state) and list 5 playtest questions. After I play, apply the top 3 fixes to make it more fun.

Please:
1. Ask me 3 short questions about my situation (accounts I have, budget, what I want the output to look like).
2. Propose a step-by-step plan using these tools or cheaper alternatives, with the time and cost of each step. Use official pricing pages; say "check pricing" if unsure.
3. Then do the setup with me one step at a time, waiting for my OK before anything that sends messages, posts publicly, spends money or deletes data.
4. Finish with a checklist to run it again next time.
